Iowa has been a major source of raw materials for the food industry.  With this fact in hand and as the home to the World Food Prize a group of Iowans formed the American Food Venture Forum.

The forum is primarily a venue for promising companies needing capital to present themselves and their technologies to sources of equity capital. Each company will have 10-15 minutes to present their ideas. They will also be provided booth space so that financiers can learn more and interact with company officials during breaks, meals and receptions. It is hoped that there will be sufficient presenters to have two concurrent tracks; this would require 15 companies. These breaks will also provide great opportunities for ventures capitalists and others to network and discuss the deals that have been presented.
