Iowa is a major source of raw materials for the food industry. As the home of the
World Food Prize and a strong background in bringing venture capitalists and companies seeking funds together, a group of Iowans formed the American Food Venture Forum (AFVF).
The Forum is primarily a venue for promising companies needing capital to present themselves and their technologies to sources of equity capital. Each company will have 10-15 minutes to present their ideas. They will also be provided
booth space so that financiers can learn more and interact with company officials during breaks, meals and receptions. In past years, the format for presenting included two tracks; this year every attempt will be made to ensure that there is one track to allow all visitors to hear all presentations.
